Community Code of Conduct
Welcome to The Villa.
This is a paid community of people learning, building, and growing with AI. It's not a free Discord server. Everyone here has made a commitment to be here, and we take that seriously.
Our goal is simple: create a space where people genuinely help each other, share what they're learning, and get better together. Paul and Ella are in here with you, building alongside you. This isn't a broadcast channel. It's a conversation.
Here's how we keep it good.
The Rules
1. Be Respectful
Treat people the way you'd want to be treated. No harassment, discrimination, personal attacks, or bullying. Full stop.
We come from different backgrounds, skill levels, and perspectives. That's a feature, not a bug.
2. No Spam or Unsolicited Self-Promotion
Share your wins. Celebrate your projects. That's encouraged.
What's not okay: pitching your services, dropping affiliate links, or using the community as a lead generation channel. If someone asks for help and your service is relevant, that's different. Read the room.
3. Keep Course Content in The Villa
The content shared here is for residents only. Don't screenshot lessons for redistribution. Don't share course materials outside the community. Respect the work that goes into creating it.
4. No NSFW Content
Keep it professional. This community includes people from all walks of life.
5. No Illegal Activity or Advice
Don't share, encourage, or ask for help with anything illegal. This includes piracy, fraud, and anything that would make a lawyer nervous.
6. No MLM or Pyramid Scheme Promotion
Hard no. If your "opportunity" requires recruiting people beneath you, it doesn't belong here.
7. Credit Others
If you're sharing someone else's work, idea, or framework, give them credit. It costs nothing and it matters.
8. Use the Right Channels
We've set up channels for a reason. Keep discussions in the appropriate place so people can find what they need.
9. Disagree Respectfully
You don't have to agree with everyone. Healthy debate is welcome. But keep it constructive. Attack the idea, not the person.
Moderation
We don't want to police anyone. But when we need to act, here's how it works:
- First offence: Warning via DM from an admin. A conversation, not a lecture.
- Second offence: 24-hour mute. Take a breather.
- Third offence: Permanent ban. No refund for the remaining billing period.
Severe violations (threats, harassment, doxxing, sharing illegal content) result in an immediate ban. No warnings.
Paul and Ella make the final call on moderation decisions. If you disagree with a decision, you can appeal by emailing villanuevacreative@gmail.com. We'll hear you out.
Lapsed Payments
Life happens. If a payment fails:
- You get a 7-day grace period to sort it out.
- After 7 days, your resident role is removed and you lose access to resident-only channels.
- There's no penalty and no judgement. Update your payment details and you're back in.
- Your chat history stays intact. Nothing gets deleted.
Reporting Issues
If you see something that breaks these rules, or if someone is making you uncomfortable:
- DM an admin (Paul or Ella) directly on Discord.
- Reports are handled privately and taken seriously.
- We don't tolerate retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith.
You don't need to handle it yourself. That's what we're here for.
The Short Version
Be a good human. Help others. Share what you learn. Don't be a jerk. If something feels off, tell us. We're all here to grow, and this is how we keep the space worth being in.
